Yesterday we decided to visit the Marta museum in Herford. The opening, one year ago, was pretty pompous, at least in the media. So, it took 10 minutes to get at Herford by train and another 10 minutes by foot to reach Marta. It appeared kinda unspectacular between a petrol station, supermarket and a lot of tenements.
The Building itself looked swanky and interesting – it completely consists of red stones – the walls and the area around – and every wall is bended in any direction. Nuju – it was worth to get there. But my mind changed after we entered the building and paid the 3 euro admission. It was simply too small. There were three rooms with boring video-installations dealing with ventriloquists (does Englishmen new that word?) and one room with about 40 pictures of murderer-scenes from Sicily.
If you want to see Marta – Stay outdoor and enjoy the weather (if it is a day without the usual rain).
